Writing your own brief has the best and worst elements of completing an assignment.

Instrumentally Inspired is an exhibition that came about from wanting to communicate some visual ideas with a jazz influence........taking reference from the instruments and the freedom of the music, within its structure.

The concept started off ...keep it simple .......making "the brief" [my brief] answerable.

Simple, again proved to be NOT easy, nor without complexities.

A system of panels were developed, creating a format to hang the work whilst also being an integral part of the finished presentation.
Naturally, the direction of the images shifted during their development.

Working through the first ideas, then becoming involved with the phyical precision of the intruments.

It wasn't until the last panel [having completed 14] that I realised I'd got to where I wanted to be......less confined, and I thought, more confident, capturing a stronger representation.
